Minister Subhash Garg reached the statement regarding the issue of Bharatpur ERPC.

Minister Subhash Garg reached Bharatpur on Wednesday. Minister Subhash Garg while speaking on ERPC said that DPR of East Rajasthan Canal Project was prepared on the basis of parameters of Central Water Commission for providing water in 13 districts by former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Since 90 percent of the catchment area of this project is from Rajasthan, there is no need to take approval from Madhya Pradesh. The Union Water Resources Minister is making false statements by spreading confusion about this project. That approval will have to be obtained from the Madhya Pradesh government to start the scheme.

The Minister of State for Technical Education said that the Central Government is pressurizing not to start this project even on the announcement made by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to start this project by spending 10 thousand crores by the State Government. The Union Water Resources Minister hails from Rajasthan, yet he is unable to get approval for this project. Efforts are being made to stop the project by making false statements. He said that about 3 crore people of 13 districts will get benefit from this project of about Rs 37 thousand crore. Its water can be used for irrigation, drinking water besides industries.Dr. Garg has said that 16 national projects are being run by the Water Resources Department in the country. But, these do not include a single project in Rajasthan. If the central government approves this ambitious project as a national project and completes it, then about 11 thousand cubic meters of water which is going into the sea in vain will be put to good use.
