The Commercial Tax Department will organize a three-day mega camp from July 18 for the amnesty scheme 2022 and settlement of outstanding demands. Its decision was taken in a meeting with the SSI Association, Tax Bar Association, CA Association and business organizations under the chairmanship of Shambhu Dayal Meena Additional Commissioner (Administration), State Tax, Commercial Tax Department at the divisional office on Monday.

In the meeting, the traders said that the department is clearing such arrears, the record of which is neither with the department nor with the traders. Commissioner Meena informed that till July 11, 2022, a total of 9967 applications have been received under the Amnesty Scheme 2022, out of which 4756 applications have been disposed of and a total amount of Rs 17.65 crore has been waived off with interest.

Commissioner Meena said that a number of suggestions were discussed for disposal of pending demand pending in various heads in Kota division, 569.53 crore old arrears and for settlement of outstanding demand under Amnesty Scheme 2022. With the consensus, a three-day mega camp will be organized by the department on July 18 in the Commercial Tax Department, Kota campus. From July 18 to 20, every entrepreneur associated with Kota division can join the camp to settle their outstanding demand.

Anupam Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Circle-B, Kota was appointed as the nodal officer for the camp. Kota Motor Vehicle Dealers Association President Prem Bhatia, Laghu Udyog Bharti President Mahesh Gupta, Tax Bar Association President BC Jain and CA Association President Shashank Garg were present. Shivendra Kumar Saxena, Joint Commissioner, Circle-Business Audit Kota and Anupam Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Circle-B, Kota also expressed their views in the meeting.

Kota Trade Federation President Kranti Jain and General Secretary Ashok Maheshwari said that even after 2010, the outstanding demands are not being settled. Despite the fact that the department has repeatedly presented the facts, they are not being implemented, due to which the traders and entrepreneurs are facing a lot of problems. SSI Asst. Founder President of Govind Ram Mittal, President Rajkumar Jain said that the traders should get the benefit of Amnesty Scheme.

By establishing coordination with the department, traders, entrepreneurs, CA lawyers and commerce tax department should take quick steps. Keta Grain And Seeds Merchant Assoc. Avinash Rathi, Chairman, said that from July 18, the government is implementing 5% GST on packing food grains by bringing them under the purview of GST, which will have a huge impact on the general public and retail traders.
