Machine

Machine

a piece of equipment with moving parts that is designed to do a particular job. A machine usually needs electricity, gas, steam, etc. in order to work

मशीन, यंत्र

noun. an apparatus consisting of interrelated parts with separate functions, used in the performance of some kind of work: a sewing machine. a mechanical apparatus or contrivance; mechanism. Mechanics. a device that transmits or modifies force or motion.

A machine is a thing that is created by people to make work easier. It is a tool or invention which multiplies the effect of human effort. The machine produces a mechanical advantage.

A machine is a physical device that actively performs work. This can be contrasted with an entity that passively performs work such as a drainage pipe. A machine uses power but isn't necessarily electrical. For example, machines can be powered by wind, water, thermal, chemical or human power

Types of Machines

By means of a machine an applied force is increased, its direction is changed, or one form of motion or energy is changed into another form. Thus defined, such simple devices as the lever, the pulley, the inclined plane, the screw, and the wheel and axle are machines.

The basic purpose for which most simple machines are designed is to reduce the effort (force) required to perform a simple task. To achieve this, the force applied must act over a longer distance or period of time resulting in the same amount of work being performed by a smaller force.

There are three ways simple machines make work easier: by increasing the distance through which force is applied, by changing the direction of applied force, or by multiplying force of speed of the energy applied. The wheel and axle is a machine in which the wheel is attached to a central axle.

English mathematician and inventor Charles Babbage is credited with having conceived the first automatic digital computer. During the mid-1830s Babbage developed plans for the Analytical Engine. Although it was never completed, the Analytical Engine would have had most of the basic elements of the present-day computer.

A machine is any device that makes work easier by changing a force. Machines may increase the strength of the force, increase the distance over which the force is applied, or change the direction in which the force is applied. There are six types of simple machines.

They are the wheel and axle, inclined plane, screw, wedge, pulley, and lever.

  • Inclined plane.

  • Wedge.

  • Screw.

The six simple machines are the wedge, screw, lever, pulley, inclined plane and the wheel and axle. They all make work easier and have few or no moving parts. There are six different simple machines. The six simple machines are the wedge, screw, lever, pulley, inclined plane and the wheel and axle.

The most notable of these are known as the "six simple machines": the wheel and axle, the lever, the inclined plane, the pulley, the screw, and the wedge, although the latter three are actually just extensions or combinations of the first three, according to Encyclopedia Britannica (opens in new tab)

There are three machine learning types: supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning.

Machines come in two kinds — Simple Machines and Complex Machines.

The most notable among these are the six simple machines: the inclined plane, the wheel and axle, the pulley, the lever, the screw, and the wedge.

Some advantages:
Efficiency – Machines generate more production with minor energy and within a limited time. Worker might be more dedicated to their work when they make use of machines. Improvement in the quality and quantity of products, as a machine, ensure high and large production rate

Machines can be used to gather, assess, and organize the “ingredients” of creative solutions: the required data points, automatically requested and supplied by other machines. This will allow human ingenuity to scale, to addressFORCE ORCHARD DLX TRACTOR a wider range of challenges at greater speed and with greater flexibility.

Principles of Simple Machines:

Machines simply transmit mechanical work from one part of a device to another part. A machine produces force and controls the direction and the motion of force, but it cannot create energy. A machine's ability to do work is measured by two factors.

Electronic machines, such as computers, use electrical energy. Mechanical machines, such as a rake, use mechanical energy. Often this mechanical energy is supplied by the person who is using the machine. Some machines help you do work by changing the size of the force needed.

Definition of Device and Machine

A machine is nothing but a piece of equipment that is powered by electrical, mechanical, thermal, or chemical energy to perform one or more operations. A device is a rather sophisticated version of a machine designed for an intended purpose.

The first evidence of simple machines dates back to 2 million years ago: fossils from Africa of early hominids called Homo habilis have been found with the first stone tools - hand axes made from chipped rocks which functioned as crude wedges. The earliest Complex machines appeared much more recently.

The Computer.
When Charles Babbage created the first type of computer, no-one could have realised how later computers would influence the world. Even when the first microcomputers were sold in the 1970s, few saw how powerful and wide-ranging they would become.

A vehicle (from Latin: vehiculum) is a machine that transports people or cargo.

A machine is an object or mechanical device that receives an input amount of work and transfers the energy to an output amount of work. For an ideal machine, the input work and output work are always the same. The six common simple machines are the lever, wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane, wedge, and screw.

Archimedes

Used for thousands of years, Archimedes first described simple machines 2,000 years ago. A total of 6 simple machines have been recognized: inclined planes, wedges, levers, pulleys, screws, and the wheel and axle.

Name six simple machines. Give an example of each machine

  • The lever. Examples are a crowbar, claw hammer, a pair of pliers etc.

  • The inclined plane. Examples are ramp, staircase, hilly roads etc.

  • The wedge. Examples are axe, plough, knife, nail etc.

  • Screw. Examples are a screw.

  • The wheel and axle. ...

  • The pulley.
